Mrs. Henry Schrage, Sr., wife of Henry Schrage, founder of the Bank of Whiting passed away at her home on Schrage avenue on Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Schrage was 75 years old and had lived in Whiting since 1867. Last March she was very ill, but a great improvement was shown in her condition in June. At this time she was so much better that she could get around, when she had the misfortune to fall and break her hip. She had been a sufferer ever since this accident.
The funeral was held at 1:30 today at the German Lutheran church. Rev. Bopp having charge of the services.
She is survived by her sons, Henry Schrage, Jr., William C. Schrage, Herman Schrage, Mayor Walter E. Schrage, and two daughters, Mrs. August Dreesen of Chicago, Mrs. B.S. Place, and her husband, Henry Schrage, Sr.
